Our members recently voted in Christopher O’Connor and Chad Bratt to our board. Christopher has stepped up to also be our new board secretary. We asked them to tell us a little more about them and what made them want to be on the Colorado Brewers Guild board.
Be sure to welcome them and thank them for giving their time to the CBG!
Chad Bratt
“My name is Chad Bratt and I’m the General Manager of Jagged Mountain Craft Brewery in Downtown Denver, and newly elected Colorado Brewers Guild Board of Directors. I started my career in craft beer well over a decade ago hosting craft beer festival in Colorado and other various states, in 2013 I joined the Jagged Mountain team and helped build us up to what we are today. In addition to my love for craft beer, I’m also an avid outdoor enthusiast and spend most of my time outside of the brewing world exploring Colorado and beyond with my wife Autumn, always making sure to stop at the local brewery on our adventures!”
What made you want to be a part of the CBG board?:
“The Guild has always been a fantastic supporter and resource for all of the brewers in the state, having the opportunity to work closely with the Guild over the past 9 years on a member level has been rewarding and incredibly beneficial to our businesses. I wanted to not only be a part of that growth and community opportunities that the board position has to offer, but to also help continue moving the Guild and the Colorado brewing industry in the right direction.”
What do you hope to bring to the board?:
“I hope that my time with the CBG board of directors will provide value, knowledge and support to brewers across the state. I plan to focus my efforts on growing the Guilds efforts in areas of the state where presence is lacking, promote and help grow Guild based events, and grow member engagement and support.”
Christopher O’Connor
What made you want to be a part of the CBG board?:
I wanted to be more engaged with the rest of the Colorado brewing community and I felt that joining the CBG board was the most effective way to do that.
As an engineer, scientist, and quality professional I hope to bring unique perspective to this diverse board. Having worked in both a contract facility and branded brewery I have insight to the needs of small and large breweries trying to be competitive in this growing market. My hope is to increase access to information and services for all Colorado breweries, promote the growth of Colorado craft, and ensure our collective interests are being supported at the state and federal level.
