Brewery In Planning

Eligibility

Intends to open a brewery or brewpub in Colorado.
Be based in Colorado and intends to join the CBG as a Brewery Member upon opening of operations.
Cannot be owned by a company that brews more than 2 million barrels of beer per year.

Dues:

Membership begins the date we process payment and runs for 12 months.
All breweries in planning pay $300 per year until they receive their TTB Brewer’s Notice and a manufacturing or brew pub license issued by the Colorado Liquor and Tobacco Enforcement Division. When you have both of these, your membership and benefits are upgraded to Brewery, but your dues will not change until the following renewal period. For example: if you produce under 2,000 bbls your first year of operation, your dues the following renewal period will be $400.
CBG dues are tax deductible as a business expense, not as a charitable contribution.
- U.S. law requires businesses to report the lobbying portion of their trade association dues as an after tax expense. We estimate that the portion of your dues that is NOT tax deductible ranges from 20-30%. We will send out a notice at the end of each year with the exact percentage.

Please Note: Brewing in Planning is a non-voting membership. When you receive your TTB Brewer’s Notice and a manufacturing or brew pub license issued by the Colorado Liquor and Tobacco Enforcement Division, you will become eligible for voting (including board elections).
