The Colorado 6 PAC is a Political Committee registered in Colorado with the purpose of supporting candidates for the Colorado General Assembly and statewide office, from any party, that are supportive of Colorado’s craft brewing industry. The Colorado 6 PAC is the only PAC making contributions specifically to candidates who support Colorado’s craft brewing industry!
The Colorado 6 PAC was established in 2013 to accept political donations from those that choose to contribute. It is a legally separate entity from the CBG.
Anyone can access donations to candidates through the Secretary of State’s website.
Colorado 6 PAC Advisory Committee
The Colorado 6 PAC advisory committee is made up of those who serve on either the CBG Board of Directors or the CBG Government Affairs Committee and also donate to the 6 PAC. The CBG Executive Director and lobbyist also sit on the advisory committee.
Each expenditure cycle the CBG lobbyist and Executive Director prepare a list of recommended recipients for 6 PAC funds that fits within the amount of money available. The advisory committee reviews recommendations and provides feedback.
Member Donations
- Donations can come from a company or an individual.
- We recommend donating no more than $350 per year. Colorado law limits donations by individuals or corporations to political committees to $725 every election cycle (two years). Limiting your donation to $350 per year ensures that you are in compliance with Colorado campaign finance laws.
- All donations go directly to the Colorado 6 PAC. Your donation will not be used as operating funds for the CBG.
- All donations to the PAC are reported to the Secretary of State and are public record.
- Most donations are collected when members pay their dues, but you have the option to donate outside of that time (see below).
Expenditures
- Expenditures are usually done every two years, during an election year.
- Beer is non-partisan and the Colorado 6 PAC is not associated with any political party, candidate, specific issue, or any organization other than the CBG.
- All expenditures are reported to the Secretary of State and are public record.
- We strive to give all 6 PAC checks in person at constituent breweries. If you have donated, we may ask you to join us when disbursing a donation check.
